Angl3d started because most 3D printing coverage is either shallow press-release journalism or YouTube creators who are one Bambu sponsorship away from telling you everything is great. Neither is useful if you're trying to decide whether to spend €300 on a new printer or €25 on a spool of filament.
We're not trying to be the biggest 3D printing site. We're trying to be the most honest one. That means saying when something is overpriced, when a firmware update breaks things, and when the community hype around a product is outrunning the actual quality.
The site launched in May 2026. It's small. It's growing. Every article is written by someone who has actually touched the hardware.
I'm a mechanical engineer from Croatia who moved to Berlin in 2021. I started 3D printing in 2017 with a kit printer that took three weekends to assemble and another month to actually print something usable. I've been making up for lost time since.
I currently run a Bambu X1C for production work, a Prusa MK4 for anything requiring precision, and an Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra for resin. The X1C handles 90% of what I need. The Prusa is for when the X1C gives me an answer I don't trust. The Saturn is for miniatures and parts with detail that FDM can't touch.
At Angl3d I cover hardware reviews, filament testing, and workflow guides. My rule: I don't recommend anything I haven't personally broken at least once. If you want to reach me directly, details are below.
We use affiliate links. When you buy through them, we earn a small commission. That commission does not influence our scores or recommendations — if it did, we'd be useless to you. We've given honest lower scores to products we have affiliate links for. We'll do it again.
We don't review hardware we've only read about. If we haven't printed on it, we say so and link to someone who has. Our reviews are based on actual print hours, not spec sheets.
A 7.2 means something different from a 9.4. We don't compress everything into the 8–10 range to avoid upsetting manufacturers. If a product is mediocre, it gets a mediocre score with a clear explanation of why.
Firmware updates, price changes, and manufacturing batches change products significantly. We update reviews when the situation changes materially, and we date every update clearly.
Tips, corrections, hardware for review, sponsorship enquiries, or just to say the AMS jammed your print at 3am — all welcome.
